The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 3 March 2017 2 Comments

(PSA: The Lush Wash Behind Your Ears Shower Gel mentioned in a previous daily lemming is now on the Lush USA website.)

Today's want, possibly because I'm just plain hungry, is Fresh Cocoa Body Exfoliant: "Cocoa Body Exfoliant is a euphoric experience for the skin and the senses. The cocoa bean has been revered for centuries, as cocoa butter is known for its nourishing properties, and cocoa extract is said to have a pleasure-inducing effect. The seductive scent, luxurious, velvety texture, and skin-softening results will satisfy any craving for a beautiful body." $45, which is more than I will spend on a scrub. There is also a Cocoa Exfoliating Body Soap, $16.50. Do comment if you've tried either!

L'Occitane Shea Butter Violet Solidarity Balm

A rare cheap thrill + charity + cute packaging mashup lemming — L'Occitane's Shea Butter Violet Solidarity Balm: "Enriched with shea butter, this violet fragranced balm helps nourish, soften and protect the lips, body and hair. In partnership with the UN Women, 100% of the profits from the sale of this balm will finance NGOs projects to promote women’s leadership in the world, with the support of the L'OCCITANE Foundation." $6 (how can you refuse?) for 20g.

Jo Malone bar soaps, Michael Angrove

I don't adore any of these fragrances, but I do adore the fantastic wrappings by artist Michael Angove. 100g bar soaps from Jo Malone, in Lime Basil Mandarin, Blackberry & Bay, Red Roses, English Pear & Freesia and Pomegranate Noir. $20 each. (And a tip from Angove: "Each of the soap wraps have been individually edited so that every soap has a little bug to find. While some are quite easy to find, some or impossibly difficult, especially on the English Pear and Freesia wrap, where there is a caterpillar in cognito.")

It's $75 for 75 ml so it won't be happening, but I'm seriously lemming the new Frédéric Malle + Olivia Giacobetti Iris Hand Cream /  Creme Pour Les Mains au Beurre d'Iris. Someone do alert me if you see it marked down to around, say, $20? The blurb: "Frédéric Malle honors iris concrete’s historical use as precious perfume for the gloves and hands of the Medici family. Its colorless, silky texture was harnessed by Olivia Giacobetti with musk and woody notes to produce a clean, soft scent to accompany you wherever you go."

Claus Porto's hand creams have been repackaged this year. Shown is the Chypre Hand Cream: "This hand cream’s silky formula drenches skin with moisture and a delicate scent to reinvigorate both hands and spirit. Its indulgent texture soothes hands upon contact creating an emollient barrier that treats them to a lasting hydration. Tangerine, grapefruit and orange leaves with a hint of black currant on a bed of crushed roses and cedar wood make this a very intense and irresistible smell." Other notes include cardamom and amber. $20 for 50 ml.
