2 shower gels ~ quick body product reviews & a quick “what’s in your shower” poll

Posted by Robin on 25 April 2017 173 Comments

Early last year I posted about 4 shower gels, and 3 of the gels currently on rotation in my shower were reviewed at that time: Weleda Sea Buckthorn, Lush Happy Hippy, EO Grapefruit & Mint. The Roger & Gallet Rose is long gone and was not replaced, ditto with a tube of Weleda Wild Rose; thanks to some very kind readers, I am well stocked with the perennial favorite Lush Rose Jam. Today, two recent favorites: Lush Wash Behind Your Ears and Hermès Eau de Pamplemousse Rose.

Lush Wash Behind Your Ears

Lush Wash Behind Your Ears

This one was the subject of a daily lemming way back in February, but as usual it took me a good long while to do anything about it…

da Bomb Eath

I'd probably rather have the Groovy Bomb ("flower power") or the Love Bomb (gardenia) or the Quote Bomb (basil) or the Ninja Bomb (tangerine), but it's Earth Day, so the Earth Bomb it is: "A sea breeze-scented bath fizzer with a surprise inside! [...] Love water? So do we. Which is why some of the profits from the sale of every Earth Bomb go toward cleaning up the world’s oceans. (As you get cleaner, the ocean does, too. Cool, huh?) This bomb is fresh, so enjoy it ASAP. For best results, hold it in your hand as it dissolves, because there’s a sea creature inside! Warning: Small parts. Not for people under 3." $7.95 each at da Bomb.

Santa Maria Novella Acqua di Fior d'Arancio

I could do a month of lemmings from Santa Maria Novella, but here's just one for our Enchanted April Friday: Acqua di Fior d'Arancio / Orange Blossom Water. "Orange blossoms from the sun-soaked orchards of Sicily make this invigorating water a treatment for purifying and toning the skin. The Dominican Friars used this water centuries ago to obtain relief from the common cold by soaking a clean wash cloth and placing on chest or nose. Today, add a splash to your bath to soothe tired muscles or apply a touch to your body or to linens as a refreshing fragrance." Available in 250 ($35) and 500 ($60) ml.

Jurlique's annual limited edition "Rose Hand Cream Handpicked" for 2017: "Rich and indulgent, yet easily absorbed, this deluxe version of our iconic hand cream deeply moisturises dry hands to restore smoothness, leaving skin beautifully soft and delicately scented. This year's limited edition celebrates the extraordinary beauty and scent of the 1,800 Rose gallica bushes at our Jurlique Farm, which we handpicked in January this year." It is out now in Australia (150 ml for $69 AUD), and should be available most everywhere by June.
