The sharp, spicy fragrance made for Sally Kennedy

Posted by Robin on 20 August 2025 Leave a Comment

Another aroma associated with the movie, and the centerpiece of the new exhibition, is the sharp, spicy fragrance made for Sally Kennedy, the character played by Ms. Taylor. Developed by the perfumer Raoul Pantaleoni, promotional bottles were given to press and guests at the “Scent of Mystery” premiere in Chicago. There were talks of Schiaparelli mass producing and selling it. But after the film flopped, the Schiaparelli partnership never materialized.

I say this smells better than the Michigan smell (laughter). If we can get Michigan to smell like this, that’ll be beautiful.

A dynamic force

Posted by Robin on 15 August 2025 4 Comments

Oman-based fragrance house Amouage...continues to make its mark as a dynamic force in global high perfumery. The brand reported retail sales exceeding $200 million in the first half of 2025 (H1 2025), a staggering +60% year-over-year (YoY) growth, marking the strongest six-month performance in the brand's history.

From fast-paced growth in the Middle East to sell-out launches in high-concentrated collections, the company’s results underscore a deeper industry movement: the rise of resonant, culturally rooted luxury fragrance brands reshaping the power structure that was dominated by French heritage houses for decades.

The heads of about 20 newborn babies

Posted by Robin on 13 August 2025 2 Comments

Officially launched June 15, Poupon Pure is a culmination of six years of pheromone-inspired research that recreates the newborn aroma with a balanced blend of floral and fruity notes. In cooperation with doctors from Hamamatsu University School of Medicine’s affiliated hospital, as well as pregnant and postpartum women, researchers collected scent samples from the heads of about 20 newborn babies, from which they identified 37 scent components. Testing this recreated scent on 20 men and women, from all walks of life, showed that it activated specific areas in the brain that evokes a pleasant feeling and the desire to continue smelling it.
