Lea St Barth ~ fragrance review

Posted by Robin on 1 March 2007 12 Comments

Lea St Barth perfume

Lea St Barth is by Calypso St. Barth, and the notes include almond, vanilla, and musk. Background information on the Calypso St. Barth line is scarce, but it seems to be a boutique on the Caribbean island of St. Barthelemy, not to be confused with Christiane Celle’s Calypso, which also hails from St. Barth. Job opening: perfume sales at Bendel's

Posted by Robin on 27 February 2007 9 Comments

Bendel's in New York City is looking for a new salesperson:

Henri Bendel perfume department

New contributor on home fragrance

Posted by Robin on 9 February 2007 2 Comments

I am very pleased to announce that Pia C, a New York-based freelance consultant on international affairs, will be joining Now Smell This as a contributor on home fragrance. Look for Pia's first review, on Mizensir's Rose Blanche candle, over the weekend.

Off for the holidays…

Posted by Robin on 22 December 2006 15 Comments

Salvador Dali Purplelips fragranceNow Smell This is taking a break for the holidays. We'll be back Tuesday with a run down of the Top Selling Perfumes of 2006, with a focus on the niche fragrance retailers. Also coming next week: Anjali returns as a contributor on scented bath & body products with a review of Claus Porto Alface (and Kevin reviews the matching candle), and a post on Perfume: The Best of 2006.

Upcoming reviews include Ralph Rocks, Paul Smith Story, CB I Hate Perfume Winter 1972 and more. And if I ever manage to finish it, there will be a post in early 2007 on 100 Fragrances Every Perfumista Should Try.

Wishing everyone a peaceful holiday!

New bath & body contributor

Posted by Robin on 14 December 2006 7 Comments

I am very pleased to announce that Jessica M, an art historian based in New York City, will be joining Now Smell This as a contributor on scented bath & body products. Jessica will kick things off this weekend with a review of the Lush Bathos Bubble Bar.

I am still looking for contributors for home fragrance and men's fragrance. Those of you who have already sent in writing samples, please be patient — I am moving at my usual snail's pace.
