Excuses, excuses…

Posted by Robin on 27 June 2007 15 Comments

Tropical Island HammockSo last night I sat down to finally finish that review of Maître Parfumeur et Gantier Route du Vetiver, and couldn't find my sample anywhere. I wasted 45 minutes looking for it. That was seriously all the energy I could summon for perfume.

Anyway, Kevin will have a review of Guerlain Vol de Nuit tomorrow, and if I can finally shake the summer lazies, I'll have a review of Prince 3121 on Friday. Coming next week: Gwen Stefani L, Hermes Kelly Caleche, and maybe a few more jasmine fragrances?

Note: image shows the Tropical Island Hammock. I've been trying to figure out if I could fit this in my living room…

Break out the champagne…

Huge congratulations to Victoria of Bois de Jasmin, who was recently hired as a Perfumery Coordinator at International Flavors & Fragrances. According to Victoria...

My work as the coordinator for the New York Creative Center will allow me to work with the perfumers as part of my new role as well as also to continue learning and accumulating important lessons about perfumery and industry as a whole.

You can read the rest of her post here, or see the announcement at Perfumer & Flavorist. Victoria is far and away the most knowledgeable fragrance blogger I know, and I look forward to the day when I announce her first perfume.

Posted by Robin on 29 March 2007 22 Comments

Otherwise Normal People by Aurelia ScottWe try not to stray very far from our subject matter around here, but when a member of your family publishes a book (a real book!) that would seem to justify a little subject straying. Otherwise Normal People: Inside the Thorny World of Competitive Rose Gardening is about, well, competitive rose gardening (and insofar as roses are used to make perfume, it is at least tangentially related)…

Issey Miyake fragrance adHaving a busy week and didn't manage to finish a fragrance review yesterday, and not going to manage to review anything today either, sorry!

Next up for review: the new Estee Lauder Azuree Soleil Skinscent, and hope to post it by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.
