The daily lemming

Posted by Robin on 5 February 2020 4 Comments

Pacifica has three Beauty Drop elixir formulas that you add to water. None of them are a good fit for me (nutritionally speaking) but I like the idea. Shown is Happy Beauty "We wanted to remove the pill from your supplement routine and make something that added joy to your day. Add flavor to your water and get beautiful benefits while you drink. Make your water work harder and lift your vibe. // Sweet lemon and lavender natural flavors meet L-Theanine, vitamin A and pomegranate juice"), $14 for 112 ml.

Yes, I am hungry at the moment, why do you ask? From Ritual Chocolate's new-ish Mountain line, the Juniper Lavender 70% bar. "Inspired by the mountains and growers of Utah, this bar is a blend of lavender grown by Lavender Hill Farms in Eden, Utah and dried juniper berries. Both ingredients are finely ground into Ritual's Mid Mountain Blend giving a floral, aromatic finish that lingers on the tongue and conjures up the scent of a high mountain meadow." About $10, and do comment if you've tried one.

Wouldn't this look nice next to the Trudon Salta candle I might buy? The Skeem Match Cloche: "We discovered this vessel shape in Japan and while we weren’t certain what it was for, we knew it was perfect for us. The original was tiny and clear so we made it large enough to hold our best-selling 4" matches and updated it in this sophisticated color palette. Each piece is hand blown and fitted with a cork stopper in the bottom. It reminds us of a vintage glass cloche, originally used to protect emerging seedlings in gardens. Once the matches are gone, it can be a curiosity used to display a found specimen." $30, shown in Violet, also sold in Smoke, Sky and Moss.

A delicate custom scent

This includes Bali Barret, overseer of all the house’s women’s offerings, to consult on the colors. (She and Touron have Hermès’s library of 75,000 silk swatches and 900 leather shades, complete with pigment formulas, some around a hundred years old, to play with.) Christine Nagel, Hermès’s perfumer, created a delicate custom scent for the lipsticks. And Pierre Hardy, creative director of jewelry and shoes, designed the graphic packaging, which is made of lacquered metal and Hermès’s “permabrass” hardware (the same that is used on its handbags).

—  Hermès moves into makeup with the Rouge Hermès lipstick (24 colors, $67, refills $42). Read more in Is This the Birkin Bag of Lipstick? at Wall Street Journal.

As soon as I have worked off all the flan I have eaten over the past few days, I need a jar of this: Flying Bird Botanicals Cacao Vanilla Rose Drinking Chocolate. "Rose + vanilla bean offer delicate floral notes complementing this decadent raw cacao." $16.50 for 212g at Beautyhabit.
