Give if you can

Posted by Robin on 2 September 2005 17 Comments

You can help the victims of Hurricane Katrina by donating to the Red Cross, either online or by calling 1-800-HELP-NOW. You can also find other worthwhile charities that are providing food, shelter, and medical assistance at Charity Navigator, or at FEMA.

Note: luckyscent is donating 10% of all September profits to the Red Cross.

Update:

Perfumemart is auctioning off selected fragrances on ebay; all proceeds of the auctions will be donated to the Red Cross.

La Creme Beauty is donating 10% of all sales in September to the Red Cross.

Now Smell This is behind as usual…

White RabbitLast night I stayed up late watching Katrina's doings on CNN. My thoughts are with all of those in the South who have been affected by this major hurricane.

Anyway, I didn't finish my fragrance review for today, and now I am running late for "real life" activities. Come back tomorrow and hopefully I will have something more interesting and on-topic to say.

New contributor on men's fragrances

Posted by Robin on 25 August 2005 14 Comments

I am very happy to announce that Marlen, who has already joined me for a number of "She Says/He Says" perfume reviews, will now be writing a regular column on men's fragrances for Now Smell This. Marlen works as a university professor in Osaka, Japan, and is also a moderator on the basenotes forum and a self-described "perfumaholic".

Look for Marlen's first review tomorrow: Nina Ricci Signoricci.

First, many thanks to everyone who takes the time to comment. And my sincere apologies to anyone who has tried to comment recently, but received an error message. The problems are supposed to be fixed by the end of the week.

Scheduled down time for maintenance: tonight (8/23) from 7 to 9 pm EDT, and Thursday in the wee hours of the morning, from midnight to 2 am. During those times the blog will be offline.

Now Smell This takes another short break…

I am heading out of town again for a quick holiday at the beach. Hope to see you again on Monday!
