The latest thing from Jo Malone: Scent to Go, a fragranced disc to scent your personal space (they suggest putting in a purse or luggage, or maybe a drawer or closet, etc etc). They're $58 a pop, and should last about 3 months. (I can't seem to find out what they're made of, or if they can be refreshed with the spray fragrances.) Available in English Pear & Freesia, Pomegranate Noir and Lime Basil & Mandarin.

I know some of you are just itching for fall weather, and Bath & Body Works has your number. Above, the Sweater Weather candle, with sage, juniper berry, eucalyptus and woods ($25 for 411g), and there are too many other fall-themed candles to count, from Apple Weather to Fall Farmhouse to Vanilla Pumpkin Marshmallow to Cinnamon Irish Cream.

Fall cleaning with Mrs. Meyer's, in limited edition Acorn Spice ("Warm, with hints of nutty cinnamon and oak – how nice!"), available in all the usual suspects — Dish Soap, Hand Soap, Candle, Multi-Surface Cleaner. Other scents this fall include Apple Cider, Spiced Pumpkin and Mum.

We are having a banner year for tomatoes in my little corner of the world. This is what I need for late September, when caprese season ends: Lycopersicon Esculentum / Tomato room spray from Carrière Frères. "A botanical cloud rises in the sillage of the Carrière Frères’ room spray. Its faceted silhouette is an homage to ancient apothecary jars highlighting the herbalist inspiration behind the brand. Made out of recycled and recyclable glass, it comes in the shape of an apothecary flask and is recognizable to its bluish tint. Capped with an oak top and silver pump, the room spray is filled with a 100% natural alcohol-base." $65 for 200 ml at Aedes.

Hyascent's hourglass diffusers (you turn it once or twice a day, the scent drips from the top to the bottom and is diffused through the wood rings) are pretty darned good-looking, with a price to match ($169 at Neiman Marcus — only $11 less than the Diptyque version*). They last for about 6 months, and they say they are going to sell refills but there aren't any on their website yet. There are 9 scents, not one of which grabs me offhand but Bourbon Joy (vanilla, mandarin, cedar and muguet) or Bliss Me (fig, jasmine, violet leaf, vanilla and amberwood) might work for fall.

* Diptyque's Le Sablier comes with 75 ml of juice; the Hyascent comes with 180. No idea if they are of equal strength, though, so that might be misleading in terms of cost.
