The daily lemming

In case anyone is still looking for the right holiday candle...here is this year's Forêt D’or from Annick Goutal (I do think last year's was nicer, though, and maybe also 2017). "Our beloved holiday scent in a limited edition package. Golden Wood. Une Forêt D’or conjures up that moment after a walk in the forest and then decorating your home with pine branches, fresh oranges and mandarins." $95 for 300g, or if you'd prefer the plainer green fluted glass (as shown here) it's $72 for 185g. The US site also shows a diffuser, but not the room spray (which used to be lovely, and which appears to still be available in some markets).

From Juliska's Twelve Days of Christmas dinnerware collection, the scented candle: "A modern classic full of whimsy, our Twelve Days of Christmas collection is a fresh holiday pattern illustrated in rich colors. Exquisitely scented with Woodland Vanilla, this candle comes elegantly gift boxed." About $78.

A limited edition holiday candle from Fragonard, decorated by Florence Balducci: "In its illuminated glass, the scented candle Bientot Minuit (Soon Midnight) illuminates the winter with its comforting pine notes: needles, sap and wood are infused in this candle and give it a festive air!" $48 at Beautyhabit.

Want: Kerzon's quartet of votive candles ("Make a wish! Our magically fragranced votives will make those long winter nights feel like a dream"). Shown are Tour d'Argile ("...a powdery note of iris talc with a green heart note coated with linseed oil"), Dame de Myrrh ("A tribute to Cleopatra, Dame de Myrrh evokes the mystical scent between sacred rituals and femininity, with a citrussy head of mandarin and hints of lavender") and Fou d'Incense ("A nod to the Asian origins of the Chess game.  A slight hint of camphor evokes the famous tiger ointment with an aromatic top note of eucalyptus, lavender and mint"). Not shown is Roi de Cuir ("Comfortably seated in a club chair, a cigar in one hand, a novel in the other, its scent envelopes with a sweet top note and a floral heart of geranium on a background of vetiver, vanilla and leather"). 220g each for $42 at Aedes.

From the new Art de Vivre collection at L'Occitane, Douceur Immortelle, shown in bar soap ($14) and candle ($29), also available in room spray ($34) and diffuser refill ($19). "After a long warm day, the sun-drenched soil of Provence releases a scent beautifully infused with flowers and herbs. The warmth of these summer evenings has a splendor that deserves to be shared. L'OCCITANE has captured this warmth in a candle with a blend of essential oils of Immortelle, Basil, Cypress, Eucalyptus and Litsea Cubeba. Together, they express that exquisite, enchanting softness of the evening air and bring you a moment of well-being and conviviality."
