The daily lemming

Diptyque’s holiday collection for 2025 will launch next week. The brand will apparently dispense with the usual trio of limited edition fragranced candles and focus on Sapin, the pine tree fragrance, in a collection called A Night of Wax and Gold. There are 3 sizes of the Sapin candle (the gold glass version in 70g for €44 or 190g for €74; or a gold speckled ceramic, shown below the jump, in 1.5k for €350)…

You want chocolate but yesterday's Mizensir Chocolat Suisse did not tempt you? Maybe you want Tocca Oaxaca: "Tocca Oaxaca Holiday Edition Candle evokes the delicious and spicy tastes of Oaxaca, with cocoa nibs and Ancho chili, the perfect combination of decadent chocolate." $50 for 287g at Candle Delirium.

Another option for a Holiday 2025 candle: Chocolat Suisse from Mizensir. "Alberto Morillas has created the chocolate candle for Mizensir, a poetic and imaginative candle dedicated to this emblem of Swiss culture and gastronomy, to celebrate the festive season and accompany the winter season with warmth, softness and indulgence. [...] With the new creation, Alberto Morillas has once again succeeded in recomposing the emotion of chocolate in subtle, delicate and evocative notes: A base of sandalwood and vanilla, with a heart note of gourmand praline, contrasting with patchouli, and a top note of cocoa and tonka bean." $75 for 230g at Mizensir.

Cire Trudon’s holiday collection for 2025 once again includes four candles (“Trudon transports us into the heart of an enchanted night, illuminating the winter sky with its constellations. Beneath the celestial vault, shimmering stars and colorful symbols emerge and come to life: a magical universe unfolds, and enchantment takes hold”). The line up: Fir (Green; “An iconic holiday creation, Fir blends notes of conifer, myrrh, and the deep richness of incense absolute, evoking the powerful olfactory presence of majestic festive fir trees”), Libra (Brown; “An amber-woody scent that evokes winter’s sensuality, Libra—named after the Libra constellation—blends warm, intense notes of amber, cedar, and tonka bean”), Luna (Blue; “Luna bears a soft, floral scent- hints of cedarwood and amber add depth to the perfume’s top notes of rose and peony”) and Nazareth (Magenta, shown below; “Nazareth bears a soft, spicy scent- hints of musk and vanilla add depth to the perfume’s top notes of citrus and clove”). They are just starting to trickle out to stores…

Merz Apothecary in Chicago (known online as Smallflower) celebrates their 150th anniversary with a new candle: "When customers step through the stained glass door, the most common phrase we hear is, "It smells SO good in here!" We created this candle to capture the intriguing aromas of our store. Cedar and vetiver from our fragrance counter mingle with armoise and medicinal herbs, topped off by the cassis notes of classic European pastilles. Welcome to Merz Apothecary. To celebrate 150 years in business, we've created our own candle, so you can bring the scent of our brick & mortar store home with you!" $50 at Smallflower.
