Diptyque Essence of John Galliano Room Spray

I smelled Diptyque’s John Galliano candle in Bergdorf Goodman some time ago, and thought it was a nice woody scent, but possibly not interesting enough for the price. Today I am wearing the matching room spray, and I have to say I’m considerably more captivated. According to Diptyque, the “subtle, woody scent is reminiscent of smouldering birch wood embers tinted with hints of iris and vanilla musk.” It is also said to have notes of leather, moss and myrrh…

Ergo candles: Grove & Zoysia

I love scented candles, but as I’ve mentioned before, I have a hard time allocating much money for them as it cuts too deeply into my limited perfume budget. Recently I tried two candles from the Ergo Silver Collection, which is said to be scented at 4 times the industry standard. At $24.50 for a 7 oz jar, they are more expensive than your basic Yankee Candle, but not so dear as high end lines like Diptyque or L’Artisan…

For candle lovers: a new scent from Diptyque

A lovely postcard from Diptyque informs me that they are launching their 53rd candle fragrance, Pois de Senteur / Sweet Pea, to be available in Diptyque boutiques in the US on March 1st. Personally, I cannot stand to divert funds from perfume into high end candles, so I will have to wait to hear what others think of it. I am still waiting anxiously for a postcard announcing their latest perfume, it has been a long time!
