Lazy weekend poll ~ scented face, body, hair & home products

Today’s poll is about scented functional products: please tell us about a few of your favorite scented products for skin, hair, or house cleaning.
Before I list my own favorites, I wanted to mention that Now Smell This has been having some performance issues this week — apologies to anyone who has had difficulty commenting. We’re moving to a new server next week and hopefully that is going to get everything straightened out.
Here are a few of my scented favorites…
Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day Bluebell Liquid Dish Soap ~ home fragrance review

Last fall I reviewed two bluebell perfumes from Penhaligon’s and Jo Malone and I wasn’t thrilled by either one, but I did express my appreciation for bluebells in general and my wish that more bluebell fragrances would be released. I haven’t noticed any new bluebell launches in the fine fragrance market (yet), but I was happy to learn that the latest fragrance blend from green home-fragrance brand Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day is…Bluebell.
Like all Mrs. Meyer’s products, the Bluebell scent collection is made with “earth-friendly essential oils and other natural ingredients.” This Bluebell fragrance is composed from notes of lemon, bergamot, jasmine, tuberose, rose, lavender, sage, muguet, vetiver and ginger. It’s a lengthy list of notes, but Mrs. Meyer’s Bluebell scent turns out to be light and soothing and pretty…
Father’s Day 2012 ~ scented gift ideas, part 1

Father’s Day looms; better get shopping! In choosing gift suggestions for men, I’ve tried to provide a wide variety of choices for different personality types. My father was outdoorsy, sporty, and I’ve included gifts for that sort of guy. I live in an organic-loving town, so I’ve recommended products that are just about free of everything deemed harmful (see tomorrow’s post). I don’t have two-legged children, and my four-legged dependents won’t be buying me anything, but I’d be happy with any gift from my lists. If you’re still looking for a gift, here’s hoping something here will suit you and your father.
The Minimalist
Everyone seems to love the simple designs of Malin+Goetz products. For perfume-adverse dads, ease them into fragrance with the light and bright Rum or Lime tonics (30 ml/$48). On the “hair front,” Malin+Goetz offers the Hair Gift Box with a Peppermint Shampoo and Cilantro Conditioner (8 oz each/$42) or naturally fragranced Hair Pomade (2 oz/$20) with meadowfoam seed oil, cannabis sativa seed oil, soybean, yucca and aloe. (This is a crossover product; see the “Homebody” category tomorrow.)
Mjölk (Milk), based in Toronto, represents Scandinavian and Japanese designers. The concrete shaving kit ($98) includes a shaving dish made from soft concrete, a shaving soap, and traditional beech wood brush with badger hair bristles…
Holiday fragrance gifts 2011, part 4
Our series of holiday gift posts continues; today we’re covering home fragrances of all sorts. If you missed them, here are links to part 1 (scented body products), part 2 (travel sizes & coffrets) and part 3 (more travel sizes & coffrets). Coming up next: men’s fragrances.

The 2011 holiday collection from Diptyque: Epinette in green (“Echoing the aromatic freshness of its needles and the resinuous notes of its pine cones, the Spruce Tree candle promises a wintry runaway in the depths of the wood.”; in 3 sizes $32-$275) or Perdigone in red (“Concentrate of warm and fruity notes around a spiced plum that deliciously perfumes the house. Absolutely comforting in the depths of winter.”; in 2 sizes $32-68)…
