Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium

I’m tempted to make this the shortest review ever and simply write, “Interested in Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium? Go buy Chanel Coco Noir or Tom Ford Black Orchid instead.” Black Opium’s vibe is the same as these fragrances, except less sophisticated. Its fruit is similar to Coco Noir’s, except sweeter. Its earthiness hints at Black Orchid’s truffled hazelnut, except muddier. That about wraps it up.

Bunch o’ limited edition collector bottles (& some other stuff) 2014, part 24

More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US. Today’s post includes collector items from Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers, Comme des Garçons + Pharrell Williams, ERH1012 and Yves Saint Laurent; plus new packaging for Rochas.

Hedi Slimane: I’m not responsible for Black Opium

Hedi Slimane has been mentioned several times in the press in connection with the introduction in the market of Black Opium with Edie Campbell by Yves Saint Laurent Beauté (L’Oréal Group). It is appropriate to precise that no creative direction has been given by Hedi Slimane on the market launches and on the choices of artistic elements, or definition of image, related to the product lines or the advertising campaigns of Yves Saint Laurent Beauté, including the ones of Black Opium.
