Peppermint pencils raise GPAs

A seven-week study by the Wheeling Jesuit University Psychology Department showed as students increased their use of a peppermint scented pencil, their Grade Point Averages also increased.

Of course, maybe the students that lost the pencils immediately, or just forgot to have them on hand, were just less motivated than those that remembered to use them? But you might want to buy some peppermint Smencils anyway, and you can do so here (they also sell Smencils in a variety of other scents from Kinda Cola to Cinnamon to Bubblegum). 

Revlon Parfumerie ~ scented nail polish

Revlon has launched Revlon Parfumerie, a new line (although not their first) of scented nail polishes. There are 24 scented colors ranging from Wild Violets to Sunlit Grass to Italian Leather to Pink Pineapple to Surf Spray to African Tea Rose. The scent is apparently not evident until the polish is dry on nails…

Imagine a car interior which always smells new, or a plastic drinks bottle which replicates the smell of the juice inside. Imagine if you could choose the scent in each room of your house by using long-lasting, fragranced paints or wallpapers. It’s all possible.

Now your nose can tell you when you are being talked about on social networks thanks to a net-connected robot.

Called Olly, the robot watches the millions of messages passing through social networks and spots when its owner is mentioned.

For every mention or referral Olly emits a waft of scent as a "reward" for the online interaction.
