Posted by Robin on 10 November 2017 57 Comments — Comments are closed

What is it: a 30 ml bottle of Tauerville Patch Flash, used lightly for testing, and a bar of Tauer Mandarines Ambrées soap.

How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling me that you live in the US (or that you can provide a US mailing address). Then tell me either a) your favorite fragrance scented soap, or b) your favorite patchouli fragrance, or c) something else you’ve been dying to post in a comment.

A cheap thrill from Tauer: a new 5 ml mini of L’Air du Désert Marocain, for CHF 15 (about $15 US) and free shipping. "5ml in a wonderful pentagonal glass vial with screw cap, black, dab vials. The vial ships in a tin box for extra protection. You will love it! Powerful, sensual and pure. Laying on the bed, watching the moon raising over the sandy hills of the Saharan desert, he dreamt the fragrance of a Moroccan night." At Tauer Perfumes.

(Quick PSA: I am on the road today and heading to a place with very limited internet access. I’ll be slow to answer comments or questions all weekend long, but I’ll do my best.)

Fall is not my favorite season, but even I will admit that it’s probably the best time of year for perfume. You can wear just about anything, and for many of us, it’s a joy to finally pull out some of the heavier woods and orientals that we’ve been neglecting all summer. I’ve already done autumn posts covering iris, incense and vetiver, now I’m turning to vanilla (and Angela will join in the fun on Monday, with 5 fruity chypres for fall). As always, these are just my suggestions, and again as always, the line between the seasons is perhaps a bit arbitrary and/or personal: some of these fragrances wear just as well in summer or winter, and some of them work perfectly fine all the year round.

Indult Tihota: Vanilla cake, yes, but vanilla cake from perfumer Francis Kurkdjian…

Tauer Data Miner soap

New black (activated charcoal) soaps from Tauer Perfumes: Data Miner ("Inspired by Renaissance Florence, Data Miner is the most elegantly scented soap, showcasing fresh lemons, Florentine leather and iris rhizomes drying in the sun. ") and Solar Engineer ("The Solar Engineer blinks into the sun, surrounded by majestic giant woods. Deeply invigorating with herbaceous nootka tree, lavender, and rosemary, the robust scent is completed with warm, dry spices and woods.") I'll take one of each, please. $15 for 100g at Luckyscent.
