Tableau de Parfums Dark PassageTableau de Parfums Dark Passage

What is it: I have two unused 7 ml travel sprays of Tableau de Parfums Dark Passage, courtesy of Andy Tauer of Tauer Perfumes (so there will be two winners, and each one will get one bottle).

How do I get it: Tell me about your favorite iris perfume, or your favorite product from Tableau de Parfums or Tauer Perfumes. Or, tell me about a fragrance you really wanted, but it disappeared from the market before you could buy a bottle.

I will send these anywhere in the world, but will not be responsible for any customs-related mishaps.

LesNez Turtle Vetiver Front & Tableau de Parfums Dark Passage ~ fragrance reviews

Posted by Robin on 15 March 2012 41 Comments

LesNez Turtle Vetiver Front

Turtle Vetiver Front is the latest from Swiss niche line LesNez. It’s the second in their series of vetiver fragrances made in support of the Turtle “anarchic” salon (about which I know nearly nothing, but you can read more here). Vetiver Front was developed by perfumer Isabelle Doyen, and I adored her first in the series, Turtle Vetiver Exercise No. 1. I thought of Exercise No. 1 (which I believe is now sold out) as a kind of vetiver for vetiver freaks…

Tableau de Parfums Miriam ~ fragrance review

Tableau de Parfums Miriam

When I first dabbed on Tableau de Parfums Miriam Eau de Parfum, I couldn’t get the thought out of my head that it reminded me of something. Something vintage. What? I smelled my wrist and concentrated. Calm, snuffy aldehydes. Lots of violet. Creamy sandalwood. Then it hit me: Miriam smells an awful lot like Balenciaga Le Dix. Once I wore them side by side, I could see that Miriam and Le Dix differ distinctly. But besides major notes, they share a feeling of gentle femininity that isn’t fashionable these days.

Miriam is the first fragrance in Tableau de Parfums, a planned series of fragrances by Andy Tauer of Tauer Perfumes created to accompany film shorts from the Woman’s Picture film series by Brian Pera. During this ten-year project, Andy Tauer and Brian Pera will work together on three films — Miriam, Loretta, and Ingrid — and their accompanying fragrances. Miriam’s notes are bergamot, sweet orange, geranium, violet blossom, rose, jasmine, ylang, violet leaf, lavender, vanilla, orris root, and sandalwood.

In describing Miriam, Andy Tauer says he puzzled over creating a perfume that recalls another era yet is still modern…
