Monday scent of the day 1/8

Posted by Robin on 8 January 2024 133 Comments

Alas, it is Monday, and a Monday in January to boot. Also, David Bowie’s (may he RIP) birthday (and Paris will inaugurate Rue David Bowie today). What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m wearing Thierry Mugler Cologne, one of my picks from the week we did a David Bowie community project in 2021.

Reminder: 1/12 is National Marzipan Day. Wear a fragrance with honey, almond or both…

Friday scent of the day 1/5

Posted by Robin on 5 January 2024 180 Comments

It’s the first Friday of 2024. (It’s also Twelfth Night, National Bird Day, George Washington Carver Day and Alvin Ailey’s birthday.) Our community project for today: wear a fragrance to match Peach Fuzz, Pantone’s color of the year for 2024. “PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a velvety gentle peach whose all-embracing spirit enriches heart, mind, and body. Subtly sensual, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness, communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration. A warm and cozy shade highlighting our desire for togetherness with others or for enjoying a moment of stillness and the feeling of sanctuary this creates, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz presents a fresh approach to a new softness. An appealing peach hue softly nestled between pink and orange, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz inspires belonging, recalibration, and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel, and heal and to flourish from.”

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m ending the week the way I started, in Hermès Eau de Néroli Doré. It works perfectly with the scarf shown above, and is indeed a fresh approach to a new softness. To me, it also succeeds in “bringing a feeling of kindness and tenderness”…

Thursday scent of the day 1/4

Posted by Robin on 4 January 2024 143 Comments

Happy Almost-Friday! It’s also the 11th day of Christmas (pipers piping) and World Braille Day. Birthdays: Sir Isaac Newton and Michael Stipe. What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m in Narciso Rodriguez Narciso Poudrée, just because I thought it matched the promotional image for Pantone Peach Fuzz shown above.

Reminder: on 1/5, wear a fragrance to match Peach Fuzz, Pantone’s color of the year for 2024…

Wednesday scent of the day 1/3

Posted by Robin on 3 January 2024 143 Comments

It’s Wednesday and the 10th day of Christmas (lords a-leaping). Also, the all-important National Chocolate Covered Cherry Day. Birthdays: Lucretia Mott and John Ronald Reuel Tolkien. What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m in Chanel Cristalle, which would go perfectly if I were wearing that jacket in early spring. When the Cristalle fades, as it must, I might just put on some Bois des Iles.

Reminder: on 1/5, wear a fragrance to match Peach Fuzz, Pantone’s color of the year for 2024…

Tuesday scent of the day 1/2

Posted by Robin on 2 January 2024 138 Comments

It’s Tuesday (and Donatella will be dropping by shortly). It’s also World Introvert Day and National Science Fiction Day, plus the 9th day of Christmas (ladies dancing). What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m in good old Diptyque Tam Dao, and taking community project points for “conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel, and heal and to flourish from”. Tea at the moment is a blend of Numi Chinese Breakfast and Numi Golden Chai.

Reminder: on 1/5, wear a fragrance to match Peach Fuzz, Pantone’s color of the year for 2024…
