Thursday scent of the day 3/5

Posted by Robin on 5 March 2020 202 Comments

Happy Almost-Friday! Wash Your Hands! What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m continuing my Astier de Villatte revisit (I tried these ages ago but didn’t pay adequate attention) with Elixir du Dr. Flair. I almost bought Grand Chalet yesterday but the combination of breaking my 30-ml-max rule AND paying shipping has kept me from pulling the trigger. We’ll see if I cave today.

Reminder: 3/6 is the The Day of the Dude…

Wednesday scent of the day 3/4

Posted by Robin on 4 March 2020 203 Comments

It’s Hump Day and National Grammar Day. A quick PSA: the next Swapmeet will be on Saturday, 21 March. What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m dreaming of spring in the “lush and honeyed” linden of Astier de Villatte Grand Chalet. I’d buy this in a heartbeat if it came in a small bottle, and I’m tempted by the candle and the incense.

I’m in Astier de Villatte Commune de Paris 1871, which Kevin called “a lovely scented mix of country-walk…and cozy parlor”.

Friday scent of the day 2/28

Posted by Robin on 28 February 2020 263 Comments

Happy Unicorn Friday! Our community project for today: wear a perfume you suspect no one else (or almost no one else) on Now Smell This owns, or something that you very rarely see worn or mentioned. Thanks go to Oakland Fresca for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I considered various rarities in my collection, but then realized one of my newer purchases, Aftelier Candide, probably qualifies? We’ll see. Either way, I smell pretty darned fantastic…
