Friday scent of the day 10/16

Posted by Robin on 16 October 2020 361 Comments

It’s Back to the Beginning Friday! Our community project for today: revisit a fragrance you tried in your early days as a perfumista. Thanks go to springpansy for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in Olivia Giacobetti’s Passage d’Enfer for L’Artisan Parfumeur. It was in a very early sample order, and was my first purchase from the brand.

Reminder: on 10/23, wear a floriental, if you have one….

Thursday scent of the day 10/15

It’s Almost-Friday and Global Handwashing Day. (Plus, World Students’ Day and a couple birthdays, Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche and Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse). What fragrance are you wearing?

Wednesday scent of the day 10/14

Posted by Robin on 14 October 2020 178 Comments

Hump Day, World Standards Day and National Dessert Day (oops, I celebrated that last night). We have a whole bunch of birthdays: Katherine Mansfield, E. E. Cummings, Hannah Arendt, Roger Moore, Ralph Lauren, Usher. What fragrance are you wearing?

Reminder: on 10/16 we’re going back to the beginning…

Tuesday scent of the day 10/13

Happy Tuesday and happy Ada Lovelace Day! It’s also the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, and a happy 79th to Paul Simon. (More birthdays: Art Tatum, Lenny Bruce.) What fragrance are you wearing?

Yesterday I was in The People of the Labyrinths Luctor et Emergo, and today I’m in its distant cousin and the first fragrance I tried from Uncle Serge, Rahät Loukoum. Tea at the moment is Mariage Frères French Breakfast, which is not a favorite but I am determined to use it up, eventually, some day.

Reminder: on 10/16 we’re going back to the beginning…

Monday scent of the day 10/12

Posted by Robin on 12 October 2020 187 Comments

Monday again, ready or not. Also, Freethought Day, plus Columbus Day and/or Indigenous Peoples’ Day. (Shhh, we’re not walking into that political minefield.) What fragrance are you wearing?

I’m in a fragrance I sampled very soon after falling down the rabbit hole, The People of the Labyrinths Luctor et Emergo — still perfect for a rainy Monday morning in October.

Reminder: on 10/16 we’re going back to the beginning…
