Tuesday scent of the day 1/19

It’s Tuesday, and we have a bunch of birthdays: Edgar Allan Poe, Paul Cézanne, Patricia Highsmith, Julian Barnes, Janis Joplin, Edwidge Danticat. Plus a very happy 75th to Dolly Parton! What fragrance are you wearing?

For The Little Red Hen, which made an indelible impression on me as a child in the Little Golden Book edition, I’m wearing Frederic Malle En Passant. (The wheat note in En Passant recalls the bread baked by the little red hen.) Tea at the moment is Upton Zi Xiang Organic.

Friday scent of the day 1/15

Happy Friday! It’s also Martin Luther King’s birthday and we’re about halfway through meteorological winter (we won’t be halfway to the spring equinox until February 3, though). Our community project for today: wear a fragrance to match Ultimate Gray and/or Illuminating, Pantone’s colors of the year for 2021.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I went partially with the colors, and partially with Pantone’s description (repeated here from the community projects page) of “a message of happiness supported by fortitude”; I’m in vintage Guerlain Jicky…
