I’m in Voyage d’Hermès for the canned gin and tonics in season 2 of Fleabag. Update: I forgot (again) to report my tea. It’s Dikom Estate Assam from Upton, with a sprinkle of nutmeg.

I’m in Hiram Green Vetiver, which I found too much in hot weather last week. It’s just right this morning (it’s cool enough here to open the windows this morning, although I imagine we’ll have the a/c on by early afternoon).

It’s Nordic Friday! Our community project for today: wear a fragrance inspired by, or made by a brand from, one of the Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden).

I’m in Maya Njie Vanilj. Jessica says Vanilj is a sibling to the brand’s Nordic Cedar fragrance, and features a “distinctly traditional Swedish combination of Vanilla and Cardamom”. And yes, I smell delicious…

I’m taking the teensiest fraction of a point for Vilhelm Parfumerie Purple Fig, a fragrance inspired by Paris, developed by a French perfumer based in New York for a brand (also based in New York, I think?) founded by Jan Ahlgren, who was born in Sweden and lived in New York for a time before moving to Paris. Ok? (If I had any of the brand’s Stockholm 1978, I would wear it.)

If I had any Geir Ness Laila (“the clear essence of Norway”), I’d wear it, but instead I’m celebrating Bastille Day with Guerlain Cologne du 68.
