It’s Friday the 13th! That’s as good an excuse for a cocktail as any, so just as well it’s also World Cocktail Day. Our community project for today: tell us about your favorite cocktail (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), provide a recipe if you like, and wear a perfume that would complement your choice or that picks up one of the notes in your cocktail. It doesn’t have to be a boozy fragrance! (This is a repeat from 2018, and we also did a booze cruise in 2017).
What fragrance(s) did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.
My (home) cocktail routine hasn’t changed much since the 2018 poll, when I said I usually mixed “the Italian aperitif wine Cocchi Americano, on grapefruit ice cubes with tonic syrup, mineral water and a twist, sometimes with a dash of bitters”, switching to Cocchi Storico Vermouth di Torino in the winter. I’ve since expanded to the occasional bottle of Cocchi Dopo Teatro or Carpano Antica Formula, and today I’m picking up the wormwood and other bitter materials in the Carpano with Astier de Villatte Elixir du Dr. Flair…
