The daily lemming

From Hamburg-based grooming brand Brooklyn Soap Company, The Woods, developed by perfumer Mark Buxton: "Sensual times two. The »Beginning« Eau de Parfum and the matching Body Wash are your trusted daily companions. First lather, then spray. And the woody, fresh, and almost hypnotic notes of tangerine, nutmeg, myrrh, amber and musk slowly envelope [sic] your body. Due to its natural, plant-based composition, the »Beginning« Body Wash is also suitable for sensitive skin." Shown in a trio gift set with bar soap, body wash and Eau de Parfum, €85.

From Murdock London, Black Tea Body Wash: "A sulfate-free liquid gel body wash that gets straight to work on skin. Featuring an invigorating boost of black tea, this body wash cleans without stripping the skin, while leaving notes of spice and wood behind." 500 ml for $34 at Nordstrom.

Ectoplasm (above left), new-ish from Lush, is really tempting even though I don't love their Shower Cream formula: "Lather up with this electric green cream packed with cocoa butter and almond oil to get spookily-soft skin. An invigorating combination of grapefruit, tangerine and mandarin orange conjure a sharply sweet aroma that'll shock you back to life. Get it before it leaves this dimension." Or, I'll wait for Cinders (above right) to get to the US: "Balls are overrated anyway; the party's in your shower with this sweet and spicy concoction of Brazilian orange oil, ginger, nutmeg and allspice powders and what better way to keep the magic alive than with skin-softening maple syrup?"

"Our CALM DOWN Organic Body Wash is enriched with organic essential oils of ginger and lavender, which are known to help calm and quiet an overstressed and wound-up mind. Lather up with a little whenever you need to wind down." 281 ml for $18 at Plant Apothecary. Other bath options for what ails you: Wake Up (rosemary and lemongrass), Get Happy (geranium and peppermint), Get It On (sandalwood, ginger and cedar), Be Well (eucalyptus and bergamot).

On my list of things I'd love to come across in TJ Maxx: Narciso Shower Cream. "A seductive shower cream that leaves the skin soft with an addictive attraction." $48 for 200 ml at Saks Fifth Avenue.
