Foreverlily is the debut fragrance from GoodTrueBeautiful, a company founded by Beth Nonte Russell, author of Forever Lily: An Unexpected Mother’s Journey to Adoption in China. Foreverlily is named for Russell’s daughter, Lily, and is meant to be “a fragrance that calls you to your higher self”; a portion of the proceeds will benefit Russell’s Golden Phoenix Foundation…

Snippets: Anderson Cooper & simple fragrances

We'd like to think we know our news anchors, but one thing not conveyed through the screen is how they smell. Gossip sites however recently reported that Tom Ford approached Anderson Cooper to make his own line of cologne. A Ford rep told us the reports aren’t true, but that didn't stop us from calling New York Times scent critic Chandler Burr.

They seem old-fashioned. Simple fragrances, where one note takes center stage, are more modern.

Olivier Durbano Amethyst perfumeNew at Luckyscent, two fragrances from French jeweler Olivier Durbano, who started his “Bijoux de Pierres Poèmes” (vaguely, Stone Poem Jewels) collection in 2000. The two are the beginnings of a projected series of 7 perfumes, “each one unearthing fragments of buried memories and emotions, the scents themselves linking to precious or primitive stones”.
