Bunch o' limited edition collector bottles 2008, part 2

Posted by Robin on 28 February 2008 6 Comments

Here are a few of the limited edition collector fragrance bottles that have launched since I posted Bunch o' limited edition collector bottles 2008, part 1 earlier this month. In most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be). Also note that a few of these may not be available in the US.

At Neiman Marcus, an Yves Saint Laurent Elle charm: “This bag accessory features an elle Yves Saint Laurent solid perfume and a fuchsia pearly lip gloss to customize a bag or a belt with absolute glamour”. $56…

Pucci Vivara ~ fragrance review

Pucci Vivara perfume

It is silly to want a fragrance just for the bottle, right? And it is even sillier if, like me, you don’t keep your perfume bottles on display anyway. He kept its chypre heritage but twisted it in a modern way, finally adding galbanum to the top of the scent’s structure to make it less “tender.”

— Columnist Chandler Burr traces the history of Pucci’s Vivara fragrance in Back in Print in yesterday’s New York Times…

Pucci Vivara ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 29 May 2007 12 Comments

Pucci Vivara perfumeThe Emilio Pucci brand, currently owned by Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy, is celebrating its 60th anniversary (see articles in the International Herald Tribune and The Telegraph) and as part of the festivities, is reviving a 1966 Pucci perfume called Vivara. The chypre fragrance has been updated by perfumer Francois Demachy:

But the new Vivara is a more modern chypre, said Demachy…
