Iris fragrances: a few more to consider

With apologies to those who hate iris and so have been bored stiff by the iris-fest this week, here are a few more iris fragrances worth considering:

Frederic Malle Iris Poudre: Created by Pierre Bourdon, and featuring notes of bergamot, rosewood, ylang ylang, carnation, magnolia, jasmine, lily of the valley, violet, rose, aldehydes, iris, musk, amber, vanilla, sandalwood, and ebony. Escada by Escada fragrance review

Escada Woman perfume

Escada is the latest fragrance release from the design house of the same name, and the second release to be named Escada. The first, launched in 1990, appears to still be in production. Is it just me, or is it unnecessarily confusing to produce two perfumes with the same name? (Note: some stores are referring to this scent as Escada Signature; others are calling it Escada Crystal). The 2005 version was created by nose Pierre Bourdon and has notes of bergamot, black currant, leafy greens, cucumber, lemon, sea breeze accord, freesia, honeydew, magnolia, jasmine, muguet, rose, orange blossom, peony, amber, musk, nectarine, vanilla, orris, patchouli and sandalwood.

Escada opens with fruit salad on a bed of greens, with a little cucumber garnish on the side. It is foody, but very light and fresh and summery…

New & upcoming perfumes from Canali, Yardley

Italian fashion house Canali is set to launch their first fragrance, Canali for men. It was created by Pierre Bourdon and has notes of bergamot, apple, coriander, lily of the valley, jasmine, orange blossoms, leather, suede and oakmoss. Yardley has released a trio of fruity Eau de Toilette fragrances for summer: Melon & Peach, Raspberry & Vanilla, and Strawberry & Kiwi. (via Elle France)

New fragrances from Ferre, Jo Malone, Paris Hilton

Gianfranco Ferré will launch a new unisex scent called Bergamotto Marino. It was created by nose Pierre Bourdon, and features bergamot, lily-of-the-valley, jasmine, and musk. The fragrance will be available in Italy in May; other markets in June. (via cosmeticnews)

Jo Malone is releasing a new scent: Nectarine Blossom & Honey. (via The Herald)

Paris Hilton has released Paris Hilton Sheer. For now, it is only available in the Far East. (via BBC link no longer working, sorry!)
