A report of a man waving a gun inside Goodwill, 904 S. Main St., resulted in a Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Department deputy taking the man into custody...The man was released after a brief investigation revealed the suspect took a pistol-shaped perfume bottle out of a box, according to the police report.

Sheriff's officials said a deputy plans to be back on duty Wednesday after a woman she was trying to arrest broke her nose with her purse. Sheriff's spokeswoman Trish Carter said the purse the 48-year-old woman swung Tuesday evening contained a large bottle of perfume and weighed more than three pounds.

A woman held captive at knifepoint in her own car for more than two hours eventually scared off her attacker by spritzing him with perfume, police said Monday.

According to officers, the would-be bandit tried to stick-up two people with a bottle of cologne that had been colored black with a marker and looked a little like a gun. But something might have smelled a bit fishy to the intended victims. Police Lieutenant Rick Edwards says there was a scuffle and the bottle broke. He says suspect, Michael Kaminski, still stank of cologne when officers arrived on the scene

A LaPlace woman remained in the St. John the Baptist Parish jail Monday, after authorities say she doused a man with perfume and then set him on fire with a cigarette lighter at a weekend party.
