Fragrance of the day: Miller Harris Jasmin Vert

Miller Harris Jasmin Vert perfume

Jasmin Vert is one of the Nouvelle Edition fragrances from Miller Harris, and has notes of boronia flowers, green mandarin, grapefruit, jasmine sambac, rose, jonquil, violet leaves, santal, foin absolute.

Jasmin Vert starts very bright and effervescent, with a touch of citrus and hints of sweet summer fruits. It stays bright and summery as it dries down into a ripe, full jasmine with subtle traces of jonquil and hay. It is perhaps a tad indolic, but not overly so. My nose is probably jaded by all the deep green scents I am wearing this summer (Miller et Bertaux no. 3, Gobin Daude Sous le Buis, and CB I Hate Perfume CB 93), but I find it lightly green at most.

It is a wonderful summer perfume for jasmine fans…

Have any extra cash lying around? Clive Christian has released a limited edition bottle of his no. 1 scent:

But the limited edition is no ordinary fragrance: It’s bottled in custom-designed Baccarat crystal flacons, which feature 18-karat gold necks inset with five-carat diamonds.

10 bottles were produced, two have been sold so far. The price? $250,000…

Two fig fragrances: Miller Harris Fig Amere & Marc Jacobs for men

Miller Harris Fig Amere perfume

On my left arm, Fig Amere by Miller Harris. This is a unisex fragrance, with notes of bergamot, mandarin, narcissus, rose, fig, green violet leaves, angelica, cedar, sweet moss and amber. It starts very heady, but calms into an interesting mix of fig, florals (I am mostly smelling rose with a touch of violet), and an earthy-woody base with just a tiny bit of powder…
