We merged two arts

Posted by Robin on 28 May 2022 2 Comments

For me, perfumery is an art itself. In the '60s, a perfumer called Edmond Roudnitska said that perfumery is an art and it's between sculpture and music. It's like music because as perfumers we speak about notes, accords, and composition, and when we describe a perfume we can give them shapes. It can be a square, round, velvety, sharp, or metallic. Here we merged two arts: painting and perfume. Research has shown that you remember something better if you are smelling at the same time as seeing, so it's a good idea to combine the two.

Puig’s diffusers dispense a hot stinky hit of civet, which, thankfully, soon fades out.

Lancome Magnifique at La noche en blanco in Madrid

Posted by Robin on 11 September 2008 6 Comments

Lancôme's new fragrance, Magnifique, will be making an appearance at Madrid's third annual La noche en blanco this Saturday, September 13th. Artist Ana Laura Aláez will construct a red geometric sculpture inspired by Magnifique's bottle in front of the Palacio Real:

A feminine, contemporary space, painted red and made with iron and methacrylate, will serve as the dwelling place of a female violoncello player. From its small, inhabitable shape, created by renowned artist Ana Laura Aláez, it will try to create a musical dialogue with the building next door, the Royal Palace…
