2 shower gels ~ quick body product reviews & a quick “what’s in your shower” poll

Posted by Robin on 25 April 2017 173 Comments

Early last year I posted about 4 shower gels, and 3 of the gels currently on rotation in my shower were reviewed at that time: Weleda Sea Buckthorn, Lush Happy Hippy, EO Grapefruit & Mint. The Roger & Gallet Rose is long gone and was not replaced, ditto with a tube of Weleda Wild Rose; thanks to some very kind readers, I am well stocked with the perennial favorite Lush Rose Jam. Today, two recent favorites: Lush Wash Behind Your Ears and Hermès Eau de Pamplemousse Rose.

A pungent experience

Posted by Robin on 13 April 2017 4 Comments

It’s the last fact that makes it such a pungent experience, as most of the products are kept out in the open. “The Lush smell is a mixture of our top products,” says Brandi Halls, Lush’s director of brand communications for North America. “When I walk in, I can definitely smell the Avobath bath bomb, the Karma soap, and the Vanillary perfume. These are some of our cult products.” This suggests key notes to the Lush smell include lemongrass and bergamot from Avobath, patchouli and orange from Karma, and vanilla and jasmine from Vanillary.

&OtherStories Lemon Daydream Hand Lotion and Graine de Pastel Organic Hand Cream

It’s officially spring in my part of the world, although my skin might beg to differ: the recent ups and downs in temperature and humidity have wreaked havoc with my face and hands, leaving things feeling a bit rough and itchy. Here’s a sampling of my recent good-smelling favorites.

I’ll admit that I splurged on Graine de Pastel Organic Hand Cream (top right) just for the box design, but now I’m hooked on the cream inside the old-fashioned metal tube…
