In case you need some non-perfume Valentine's ideas, here is Steven Smith's limited edition Lover's Leap Tea ("high grown Ceylon tea from Lover’s Leap Tea Estate, coupled with pink rose petals, hand-sorted chamomile petals and subtle citrus flavors") and the matching chocolate bar from Ritual ("...marriage of our 70% dark Madagascar and Peru chocolate with Lover’s Leap black tea blend from Smith Teamaker"). You can find the bar for $14 at Ritual, or in a gift set at Steven Smith, with a chocolate bar and 3 kinds of tea (Lover's Leap, Black Lavender and Big Hibiscus), $49.

It reportedly took four years, but Bvlgari did eventually sell that Opera Prima fragrance extravaganza, and now they’ve done it again, this time for the (comparatively) budget customer: meet L’Opera Grandiosa, available now at La Samaritaine in Paris for a mere €50,000. Samples, anyone? The Three Day Weekend set from Arielle Shoshana: "Clear your calendars: Arielle Shoshana Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are finally available in a perfectly weekend-bag-sized discovery set! Your new weekend plans: smelling amazing ?" Three x 1.5 ml; $22.50, redeemable towards a full sized bottle of any of the 3 (once they are done being repackaged in February), with code 3DAYWEEKEND.

Cire Trudon + Balmain, again, in case you did not cave the first time. "Created for Maison Balmain, the unique Ernesto scent is given a twist with floral notes of black rose. Elegant and mysterious, the floral scent enhances the leathery, Atlas cedarwood notes with a feminine appeal." And yes, the price has gone up, in case it wasn't bad enough already: $180 for the 270g, $880 for the massive 2.8 kg. Ouch.

I can see this becoming a spring / summer staple: Fox in the Flowerbed Body Oil from Imaginary Authors. "Wearing this floral wonder will amplify the beauty in everything. It’s a versatile scent, doubling as a mood-lifter during the day and bringing an ethereal elegance to nights out. Don't be led astray by the name, there is nothing animalic or off-putting about this scent." $28, but the website doesn't seem to disclose the amount of product you receive — perhaps it's a bargain, perhaps not. Hat tip to somebody and my apologies for forgetting who told me, or commented about it, or ?
