Le Labo has announced that due to the closing of the Dallas Barneys, they will be discontinuing the city exclusive fragrance for that store, Aldehyde 44. While stocks last, the scent will be available in all Le Labo stores, including their online shop (although it does not seem to be available there as yet).

A few weeks ago, Robin posted an update to her much-loved post 100 Fragrances Every Perfumista Should Try, adding twenty-five more fragrances worth seeking out. And what’s my “beat” here on Now Smell This? I’ve always gravitated towards florals, particularly rose-based perfumes, so I’ll do my part with a run-down of some must-try rose scents.

Le Labo Santal 33 ~ fragrance review
While sniffing hundreds upon hundreds of perfumes each year (many of them just plain cheap, ineptly blended, blatantly aiming to appeal to every human on earth), I’m grateful when a solid, good-smelling fragrance appears amidst the junk. I love the weirdo scents, the “characters,” the one-of-a-kind perfumes, but they are becoming rare. (We need a whole new crop of fragrance notes, don’t we? Or a whole new crop of perfumers…?)
Le Labo Santal 33, the aroma, started out as a popular Le Labo candle that I’ve never smelled: Santal 26. Apparently that backstory is not exciting enough for a perfume launch, thus:
