Banana Republic Republic of Women, Republic of Men fragrances

Banana Republic is expected to launch Republic of Men and Republic of Women in late August or early September. The new fragrances are for the “sportier, khaki-pants guy and white-shirt girl”.

Bond no. 9 Brooklyn fragrance

Brooklyn, which launches next month, will be Bond no. 9’s 33rd fragrance. As is the case with many of the brand’s recent offerings, the packaging is half the fun; some people objected to the graffiti-covered bottle as a representation of Brooklyn, but I’m in love. Really, Bond ought to start letting their customers choose the bottle they’d like with their favorite fragrance, don’t you think? And as long as we’re dreaming, have all the empty bottles available in, say, 15 ml?

Bond no. 9 Astor Place perfumeNext up from Bond no. 9 will be Astor Place, the latest in their series of fragrances celebrating New York City neighborhoods. The new scent was inspired by Tony Rosenthal's “Alamo”, a rotating sculpture at the corner of Lafayette Street and 8th Street known locally as the “Astor Place Cube”.

While their last fragrance, Brooklyn, was described as “unisex with a desirably masculine attitude”, Astor Place is pegged as a “unisex fragrance with a feminine tendency”…

Christian Lacroix Abynthe perfume from AvonComing soon from Avon, another collaboration with designer Christian Lacroix (see 2007's Avon + Christian Lacroix Rouge & Noir). The new oriental fragrance for women is Absynthe, inspired (obviously) by the green fairy.

The fragrance notes include absinthe, freesia, green anise, orchid, saffron, narcissus, ancient woods, ebony, musk, myrrh and amber…
