Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male fragranceJean Paul Gaultier will launch the latest limited edition of his Le Mâle fragrance in September, the Kilt Collector Edition. (via vogue.fr) Gaultier has long included kilts in his runway collections, in fabrics ranging from the traditional plaid to black mink. The Le Mâle fragrance includes notes of wormwood, bergamot, cardamom, lavender, orange blossom, cinnamon, cumin, wood, musk, amber, and vanilla.

Jean Paul Gaultier Gaultier2 fragrance

Gaultier2 was launched this year by Jean Paul Gaultier, the French fashion designer. It is the first unisex fragrance in the Gaultier line. It was created by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian of Quest International, and features notes of ambergris, musk and vanilla.

Gaultier had said that he did not want Gaultier2 to have traditional top, middle and base notes, and in fact it is an essentially linear fragrance. The start is amber, musk and vanilla, with a blast of something fruity-floral and very sweet. That ‘something’ has been compared both to bubblegum and to Classique, Jean Paul Gaultier’s first fragrance. It has been some time since I have smelled Classique, but the bubblegum comparison is certainly apt…

Jean Paul Gaultier to launch viral campaign & other perfume news

Jean Paul Gaultier will launch a viral campaign to "bring people together" on September 10. On his website, users will be able to create and share graphics, and even fragrance, so to speak:

'The Fragrance Alchemist' is a film directed by Alain Escalle about a young prince who lives in the streets of a vertical megalopolis and has decided to create his perfect perfume. Users can add their personal creative touch by creating a "virtual" fragrance and passing it on to their partner or friend. (via digitalbulletin)
