Les Nez Turtle Vetiver fragrance

I said yesterday that I hadn't swooned over a new fragrance in some time (see Vanille Galante), but I left one out: Turtle Vetiver, from LesNez. It's their latest scent from perfumer Isabelle Doyen, and it was developed as part of the Turtle (“anarchic”) salon:

TURTLE is an open and chaotic network of diverse but interconnecting ideas, people, projects, events, and venues linked by American filmmaker, Michael H Shamberg. Perfumer Isabelle Doyen’s contribution is a Vetiver EdT which she makes in small quantities and constantly changing formulas.

Annick Goutal will launch Un Matin d’Orage, a new gardenia-focused fragrance for women, in February.

The new fragrance is “meant to channel the ambiance of a Japanese garden after a storm”, according to Camille Goutal:

The idea is to imagine yourself in a Japanese garden — not a Buddhist Zen-type place, but a real garden with lots of greenery…

Spicier, more aromatic

Isabelle, Camille said, was working on a new Gardenia fragrance which she described as "fresh and light", and had just completed a new version of another fragrance, Mandragore. Both are slated to be launched next year.

"The new Mandragore is spicier, more aromatic, with notes like pepper and anise. The ingredients' potency is stronger. It's for winter, so it'll be darker," she said.

Perfume meet & greet: Camille Goutal & Isabelle Doyen at Aedes in New York

Camille Goutal and Isabelle Doyen of Annick Goutal will be at Aedes de Venustas in New York City on Thursday, April 3rd from 6 - 8 pm to sign bottles and preview the Les Orientalistes trio. They will have limited quantities of the coffret on sale (BUY ME ONE, PRETTY PLEASE!) in advance of the fall 2008 US launch.
