Hermes Eau d’Orange Verte & Concentre d’Orange Verte: fragrance review

Posted by Robin on 25 July 2006 12 Comments

Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte

Hermès introduced Eau d’Orange Verte in 1979 (the original name was Eau de Cologne d’Hermès; it was renamed Eau d’Orange Verte in 1997). It was created by perfumer Francoise Caron and has notes of bergamot, lemon, mandarin, mint, jasmine, orange blossom, patchouli, moss and cedar.

Eau d’Orange Verte is a citrus chypre, along the lines of Ô de Lancôme or Eau de Rochas. It starts with a slap of citrus, very sharp and acidic. Hermes Eau des Merveilles Constellation ~ an update

Posted by Robin on 28 March 2006 8 Comments

I mentioned last week that I'd heard various stories about the new limited edition Eau des Merveilles Constellation from Hermès: some said the fragrance was exactly the same as the regular Eau des Merveilles, some said it was slightly different. Finally, I did the obvious: I emailed Hermès. According to their customer support, the juice is exactly the same as the Eau de Toilette version of Eau des Merveilles.

Hermes Terre d'Hermes fragrance advert

Terre d’Hermès is the latest fragrance for men from Hermès. It was created by perfumer Jean Claude Ellena, and it is worth repeating the fragrance description I posted back in December:

The vegetable and mineral juice, made without animal by-products or musk, sparkles with orange (specifically formulated for Hermès by Albert Vieille) and grapefruit that blends with flint for a mineral note, and combines with pepper, bay rose, geranium, patchouli, benzoin and vetiver around the central note of Atlas cedar to enhance its Earthly tones. (via cosmeticnews)

According to Escentual, the fragrance is meant to be the masculine counterpart to Hermès Eau des Merveilles: “This is for the man who has his feet firmly on the ground, but his head is in the stars.”
