Friday scent of the day 5/9

Posted by Robin on 9 May 2025 254 Comments

It’s Friday, Europe Day and John Brown’s birthday. Also, Guessing Game Friday (edition 5)! Our community project for today: describe your perfume to us, OR, give your perfume the name it ought to have had, and we’ll see if we can guess what it is. Thanks go to Glannys for the suggestion. And PLEASE, if nobody guesses your fragrance, come back and tell us what it was!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

My fragrance was made by a British brand, and named for a mountain town famed for its flower plantations…

Happy Friday! And happy 70th to Our Lady Donatella Versace. Our community project for today: honor Donatella by wearing the last fragrance you purchased, or anything that you think fits the occasion.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

Happy Friday! It’s also National DNA Day, World Penguin Day and Ella Fitzgerald’s birthday. Our community project for today: wear a lilac fragrance, if you have one. Thanks to chocolatemarzipan8 for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m out of town and having a lovely time despite nothing going to plan. So I’m quite late and may or may not be able to post again today, wearing Hermès Un Jardin Sur Le Nil for the second day…

Happy Friday and happy World Heritage Day / International Day for Monuments and Sites. Our community project for today: Pick a place you’ve visited, or would like to visit, that has “intangible cultural heritage”, tell us about it, and wear a fragrance you think fits for whatever reason.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I went with Archaeological Sites of the Island of Meroe (“the heartland of the Kingdom of Kush, a major power in the ancient world from the 8th century BCE to the 4th century CE.”), in present day Sudan, and I thought right away of Tauer Perfumes Au Coeur du Désert but it’s going to be pretty warm here today, so I switched to Comme des Garçons Ouarzazate…

Friday scent of the day 4/11

Happy Toontown Friday! Our community project for today: scent a favorite cartoon character. Thanks go to Jalapeno for the idea.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in more old school French: Dior Eau Sauvage for the Pink Panther, who I adored as a child, still adore now, and can hardly separate from the fantastic theme music by Henry Mancini.
