Friday scent of the day 5/10

Posted by Robin on 10 May 2019 217 Comments

It’s Friday! Our community project for today: wear a fragrance by Heeley, Hiram Green, Histoires de Parfums or Honoré des Prés, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter H.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m feeling better than yesterday but will probably sit out another day of perfume wearing. If I was entirely recovered from whatever virus I’ve picked up, I’d be in Honoré des Prés I Love Les Carottes…

Friday scent of the day 5/3

It’s World Press Freedom Day and Sun Day, and possibly even better, it’s Friday. Our community project for today: wear lily of the valley for May Day, which was earlier this week.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m went with the lovely Hermès Muguet Porcelaine, which has already made a good showing in the comments this week…

Friday scent of the day 4/26

It’s Friday, and our community project for today is edition 4 of the picture challenge, part 1. Wear a perfume that matches the picture, which is Georgia O’Keeffe’s My Shanty, from 1922. You can read more about the painting here and here. There is a short bit on her time at Lake George here.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in the indubitably beautiful but very not-me Chanel No. 19, from a vintage decant that has perhaps seen better days, especially in the top notes. Wearing 19 always feels like wearing someone else’s clothes, so I’ve added a dab of Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue to soften the angles a bit…

Friday scent of the day 4/19

Happy Twice as Nice Friday! (It’s also Dutch-American Friendship Day and Bicycle Day.) Our community project for today: wear a fragrance that you’ve purchased more than once (a scent that you used up and bought again, or a scent for which you’ve already got a backup bottle). If you don’t have such a fragrance, wear the scent you’d be most likely to rebuy. Thanks go to thegoddessrena for the idea!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in Hermès Osmanthe Yunnan. I said when I reviewed it that I did not need 100 ml of anything and wished I’d waited for the 15 ml sizes to go on sale, but as it turned out, that 100 ml bottle disappeared faster than any other perfume I’ve ever bought. It helps that it is light, and short lived, and that I adore the top notes. Anyway, it’s been replaced with a 15 ml…

Friday scent of the day 4/12

It’s Platonic Ideal Friday! Our community project for today: wear your platonic ideal of X (and X can be anything: yourself, a note, a fragrance family, a style or characteristic — be as creative as you like). (You can find an easy definition of platonic ideal here.) Thank you to Jalapeno and Koyel for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in L’Artisan La Chasse aux Papillons, my pick for the Platonic Ideal of a spring floral. (Now, if only it was the Platonic Ideal of spring weather…)
