Friday scent of the day 8/23

Posted by Robin on 23 August 2019 226 Comments

It’s Nouveau Niche Friday! (Also, the International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.) Our community project for today: wear a fragrance from a new (2017 or after) indie or niche brand.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I went with Arielle Shoshana Saturday. I imagine I will have lots of twins today…

It’s Friday and Roller Coaster Day, brought to you by the letter K. Our community project for today: wear a fragrance by Kerosene, Keiko Mecheri or Kai, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with K.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in good old Keiko Mecheri Osmanthus.

Reminder: on 8/23 we’re doing Nouveau Niche…

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in Hermès Kelly Caleche Eau de Toilette. Perfumer Jean-Claude Ellena said he was inspired (at least in part) by the Jean Giono novel Jean le Bleu…

It’s Guessing Game Friday (again)! Our community project for today: describe your perfume to us, OR, give your perfume the name it ought to have had, and we’ll see if we can guess what it is. Thanks go out to Glannys for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I ought to have been called Eau de Tranquillité. (Update: Elisa P guessed it, I’m in Comme des Garçons Ouarzazate.)

Reminder: on 8/9 we’ll celebrate National Book Lovers Day…

Friday scent of the day 7/26

It’s Friday, but it won’t last. Our community project for today is Gone In Sixty Seconds…wear the shortest-lived fragrance you own. Bonus points for reapplying all day long. Thanks to pyramus for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in good old Bvlgari Eau Parfumée au Thé Vert. It is probably not the absolute shortest lived fragrance I own (somewhere I even have a bottle of Florida Water) but it’s fleeting enough for our purposes. When it fades, I plan to liven it up, briefly, with some Providence Perfume Co Lemon Liada…
