Friday scent of the day 3/20

Posted by Robin on 20 March 2020 387 Comments

It’s perhaps not the happiest of times, but all the same, today is the International Day of Happiness. (Also, the UN French Language Day, World Sparrow Day, and Fred McFeely Rogers‘ birthday.) Our community project for today: wear the perfume that most reliably increases your happiness.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project. And feel free to tell us about anything at all that made you happy this week!

I’m in Diorissimo (and I begin to suspect that I could come up with a tray of 5 perfumes that would fit every single community project we have done so far that wasn’t brand-specific.) I am drinking my morning tea in my Mr. Rogers mug that I paid way too much money for in Richmond earlier this year (I still can’t believe I paid that for a mug, and that I have to hand wash it to boot). It makes me happy every time I look at it, even though I wasn’t really a Mr. Rogers fan when I was of the age to watch Mr. Rogers. Other things that are making me happy this morning: I finally scored some toilet paper…

Friday scent of the day 3/13

Happy Friday the 13th and happy National Jewel Day! Our community project for today: wear your blingiest, most attention-grabbing perfume (basically the opposite of last week).

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m going with Robert Piguet Fracas for a day of chores and errands…

Friday scent of the day 3/6

It’s Friday! It’s also the The Day of the Dude. Our community project for today: Take it easy, man.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I wish I had some Demeter Mr. Bubble (remember the bathtub scene?) but I don’t so I’m in Comme des Garçons Ouarzazate for the “Take it easy, man” part, which as it happens I could use this morning anyway…

Friday scent of the day 2/28

Happy Unicorn Friday! Our community project for today: wear a perfume you suspect no one else (or almost no one else) on Now Smell This owns, or something that you very rarely see worn or mentioned. Thanks go to Oakland Fresca for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I considered various rarities in my collection, but then realized one of my newer purchases, Aftelier Candide, probably qualifies? We’ll see. Either way, I smell pretty darned fantastic…

Friday scent of the day 2/21

Posted by Robin on 21 February 2020 247 Comments

It’s Friday and International Mother Language Day and Nina Simone’s birthday. Our community project for today: wear a fragrance by Parfum d’Empire, Parfums DelRae, Penhaligon’s, Pacifica or Parfumerie Generale, if you have one. (Yes, we already did a community project for Parfums de Nicolaï). Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter P.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

You guessed it, I’m in Parfum d’Empire Azemour Les Orangers…
