Friday scent of the day 5/29

Posted by Robin on 29 May 2020 361 Comments

The last Friday in May! Our community project for today: wear a perfume by The Different Company, Tauer Perfumes, Tokyo Milk, Tocca or Téo Cabanel, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter T.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I went with Tauer Perfumes Rose Flash. I may add some Incense Flash later on…

Friday scent of the day 5/22

Happy World Goth Day! Our community project for today: get your goth on! (Need help? Here’s the wikipedia page on Goth subculture.)

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in L’Artisan Parfumeur Timbuktu, which I think is just (barely) weird enough and just earthy enough to qualify, even if it isn’t the most obvious goth choice (L’Artisan Voleur de Roses might have been better, but I haven’t got any and it doesn’t suit me anyway). Happy International Day of Families! Our community project for today: name your favorite fragrance family, and wear one or more fragrances in that family, OR, make up your own fragrance family (like, say, wood pudding), define it for us, and wear the best example of that family.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in a wee drop (I don’t have much left) of April Aromatics Ray of Light, which would certainly qualify for new wave summer colognes.

Reminder: 5/22 will be World Goth Day…

Happy Friday, happy World Red Cross Day, and happy Iris Day! (Also, happy birthday to Sir David Frederick Attenborough and to my little sister.) Our community project for today: wear an iris fragrance, if you have one.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in Prada Infusion d’Iris Absolue, my favorite reasonably priced iris…

Friday scent of the day 5/1

Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit and happy May Day! Our community project for today: wear the fragrance that sent you down the rabbit hole.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’ve got a dab of vintage Diorissimo on one hand, because May Day, but the rest of me is sporting good old Diptyque Philosykos. It’s hard to identify a single perfume that sent me down the rabbit hole, but Philosykos was my first complete turnaround. I really didn’t like it the first time I smelled it, or at least, I didn’t think it smelled like an appropriate personal perfume, for me or anyone. After a bit more niche perfume exposure, I “got” it, and that experience changed my attitude towards perfume…
