Friday scent of the day 3/5

Posted by Robin on 5 March 2021 284 Comments

It’s Friday and National Absinthe Day! Our community project for today: wear a fragrance with an absinthe-related note (wormwood, fennel, anise, etc). If you don’t have one, maybe wear something green and herbal?

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

Points for me, in Guerlain Anisia Bella…

Friday scent of the day 2/26

Happy Friday and happy Levi Strauss Day! Our community project for today: along with Jacob Davis, Strauss invented and patented the riveted blue jean. Do whatever you like with the theme.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I went with the simple idea of jeans as modern casual wear — a no brainer outfit that you can dress up or down and wear (nearly) anywhere. I’m in the perfume equivalent: my patented mix of Hermès Eau Claire des Merveilles layered over Eau des Merveilles…

Friday scent of the day 2/19

Happy Friday, and welcome to the Picture Challenge, edition 6. Our community project for today: wear a perfume that matches the picture, which is The Girl by the Window by Edvard Munch, 1893. (More reading here and here; full image shown below, larger copy of the image here.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I selected this picture because it seemed a good fit with the pandemic,* but turns out it also fits our local weather — everything outside is currently covered with a rather impressive layer of ice. I’m in Diptyque Tam Dao, which after all these years is still my favorite fragrance for keeping calm and carrying on…

Friday scent of the day 2/12

Happy Friday and Happy (Lunar) New Year! (Also, Darwin Day and Lincoln’s birthday, plus RIP Chick Corea.) Our community project for today: welcome the Year of the (Metal) Ox by wearing a fragrance that represents diligence, dependability, loyalty, honesty and hard work.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

Diligence, dependability, loyalty, honesty and hard work: right away I thought of Prada Infusion d’Iris (not the Absolue, even though I do prefer it — that’s too luxurious for the ox.)

Reminder: on 2/19, we’re doing the Picture Challenge, edition 6…

Friday scent of the day 2/5

Happy Friday and happy World Nutella Day! February is also Black History Month and National Grapefruit month. Our community project for today: wear a fragrance with grapefruit; extra credit if Grapefruit (or Pamplemousse or whatever) is in the name of the scent. (This is a repeat from 2015.)

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

No need to change what works, so I’m wearing what I wore when we did this project in 2015: the bright and cheerful Dawn Spencer Hurwitz Pamplemousse…
