Friday scent of the day 8/27

Posted by Robin on 27 August 2021 179 Comments

It’s Friday! Our community project for today: People change…wear something you never would have worn in your pre-perfumista days.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I am heading home tomorrow after a week at the beach with family. I am commando again. I did not wear perfume even once: days were commando, nights were Cutter Eucalyptus…

Friday scent of the day 8/20

It’s Friday, plus National Lemonade Day and World Mosquito Day. Our community project for today: wear the first scent that made you a fan of a particular note. Thanks go to PriscillaE for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in Guerlain Vetiver, which I think was the fragrance that made me crazy for vetiver? It was a long time ago so I can’t be sure…

Friday scent of the day 8/13

Happy International Lefthanders Day! It’s also Friday the 13th, plus Alfred Hitchcock’s birthday, and our community project for today centers on those two dates: wear whatever seems to fit the theme.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in Eau de Guerlain: light enough for the heat wave here today and in Hitchcock’s Rear Window,* and with enough old-school elegance that you can imagine Grace Kelly and/or Jimmy Stewart wearing it (even though it didn’t launch until 1974, 20 years after the movie was made)…

Happy Friday and happy Happiness Happens Month! Our community project for today: wear a happy fragrance, and tell us about something that’s made you happy recently.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m copying Isabella, who went with Parfum d’Empire Azemour Les Orangers on Wednesday. Things that are making me happy lately: a spate of windows-open summer weather (not today, though); my new-ish folding step thru e-bike; my sister moving a couple hours away, at least for a few years (she usually lives overseas); and a family beach vacation coming up at the end of this month. Also, PG Wodehouse, who has provided much of my evening reading lately, as a palate cleanser between two somewhat dire books (The Fishermen and Klara and the Sun).

Reminder: 8/13 is Alfred Hitchcock’s birthday (and Friday the 13th)…

Friday scent of the day 7/30

It’s BUB Frenzy Friday! Our community project for today: Wear a fragrance that inspired you to buy a backup bottle (or that you wish you wish you had a backup bottle of, or you’re thinking about buying a backup bottle). (Thanks go to chocolatemarzipan8 for the suggestion.)

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I do not really have any proper back up bottles, but I do have bottles I bought before I’d quite finished the first one, and today I’m in one of those: Carthusia Mediterraneo…
