Friday scent of the day 10/11

Posted by Robin on 11 October 2024 182 Comments

Happy FOMO Friday! (Also, National Fossil Day and International Day of the Girl.) Our community project for today: wear the perfume you bought because everyone else was buying it and you didn’t want to miss all the fun. Thanks go to SarahN for the idea!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m in Fendi Theorema, which got so many raves on MakeupAlley back in the day that I had to have a bottle. It was already discontinued by the time I heard of it, but I lucked out and found a bottle at a mall kiosk. It was a very long time ago now, but my memory is that they let me sniff the cap and that’s it. (Springpansy mentioned it as a FOMO pick yesterday, so I am not alone…)

Friday scent of the day 10/4

Happy Friday and happy National Cinnamon Roll Day! (Also, National Taco Day and World Animal Day). Our community project for today: wear a fragrance with a cinnamon note.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m taking (huge) cinnamon points in Serge Lutens Rousse…

Friday scent of the day 9/27

It’s Young(ish) Guns Friday! Our community project for today: wear a perfume by Jérôme di Marino, Quentin Bisch, Fanny Bal or Dora Baghriche, if you have one. If you don’t, see if you can think of another mainstream perfumer aged 45 or under that you can represent.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

It never occurred to me when I came up with the project for this week that I would not be able to participate, but that’s how it worked out. I swear I have some Angel Muse hiding somewhere, maybe, but meanwhile I’m empty-handed. I’m smelling great anyway in Narciso by Narciso Rodriguez aka white cube…

Friday scent of the day 9/20

It’s Friday, plus National Pepperoni Pizza Day and Sophia Loren’s birthday. Our community project for today: we’re off to Mainland Southeast Asia! Wear a perfume that is named for a place in Mainland Southeast Asia (we’ll include Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and West Malaysia), or that reminds you of a (real or imaginary) trip to to the region, or that features a local ingredient, or ?

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

Points for me, in Diptyque Do Son…

Friday scent of the day 9/13

Posted by Robin on 13 September 2024 267 Comments

Happy Friday the 13th! Also, Roald Dahl Day, and one of several versions of International Chocolate Day. Our community project for today: wear the fragrance from the oldest bottle in your collection that you bought new (in other words, not counting any vintage fragrance purchases, etc). Hat tip to Gail for the suggestion!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

As I said yesterday, I have no way of identifying my oldest bottle bought new. I’m in Diptyque L’Ombre dans L’Eau, which is probably close enough…
