Friday scent of the day 5/20

Posted by Robin on 20 May 2016 367 Comments

Hermès Torana bracelet

Happy Understated Friday! And a very happy birthday to Cher, who probably won’t be participating in today’s community project: The Art of the Understatement. That was suggested by Anniky, and you can interpret it howsoever you like.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

Ya’ll knew I’d be in Hermès, right? I went with Cuir d’Ange…

Friday scent of the day 5/13

Azemmour, Georg Braun

It’s Friday the 13th, but also Chypre Friday! (And surely a good chypre will save you from anything.) Our community project for today: wear a chypre fragrance of any sort — classic or modern or post-modern. (And a quick reminder: don’t forget our yearly Haiku challenge is tomorrow!)

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m wearing Parfum d’Empire Azemour Les Orangers. Tea at the moment is a meh Assam — I am still working on clearing out tea samples.

Reminder: on 5/20 we’re doing The Art of the Understatement…

Tom Ford SS2016 campaign

TGIF, everyone! Our community project for this week: wear a fragrance from Tom Ford, if you have one. If you don’t, don’t. Either way, don’t forget to vote for the winner of the 2016 Prix Eau Faux!

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I’m wearing a little dab of Tom Ford White Patchouli…

Thierry Mugler Spring 2016

Ah, Friday! Our community project for this week: wear one of your “top 10 of spring” fragrances (unless it’s fall where you are, in which case wear one of your “top 10 of fall” scents).

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I went with Thierry Mugler Oriental Express, from Erin’s Top 10 list. It’s perfect for the almost-but-not-quite-spring weather we’re having here today.

Reminder: on 5/6, wear a fragrance from Tom Ford, if you have one…

Friday scent of the day 4/22

Crab nebula supernova remnant

Happy Earth Day! Unfortunately, Prince has left the premises. We’re soldiering on with our community project for today: “What’s in a name, part 2”, that is, “misnamed” fragrances. You can interpret that howsoever you wish. The project was suggested by Dilana, who noted that Jardins d’Écrivains Orlando smelled like traditional honey cake instead of a modernist multi-gender novel or hero/heroine. If you like, tell us what your fragrance should have been called, and/or tell us what the fragrance you’re wearing should have smelled like in order to fit its name.

What fragrance did you pick? As always, do chime in with your scent of the day even if you’re not participating in the community project.

I looked all over for my (misnamed!) Prince 3121, but no joy. So I’m in Hermès Vanille Galante, which is lilies floating in salty water…
