More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US. Estee Lauder buys Frederic Malle

In its third luxurious and somewhat idiosyncratic acquisition in less than a month, the Estée Lauder Cos. Inc. has signed an agreement to purchase artisinal [sic] fragrance brand Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle. [...]

The Malle acquisition joins new siblings Le Labo, an irreverent artisinal [sic] fragrance brand that Lauder acquired on Oct. 15, and upscale skin-care business Rodin Olio Lusso, which it bought last week.

What would Roudnitska have done

It’s very much in the style of people like Edmond Roudnitska, like a modern version of Eau de Rochas and other scents from the 1970s. It’s that type of writing we went back to. It’s very true to the flower, actually. I discovered a while ago that Roudnitska had a magnolia planted in his garden. It’s something that I always kept in mind, thinking, What would he have done?
