DKNY Be Delicious Picnic in the Park fragrancesDonna Karan’s DKNY label has launched a new set of limited edition variations on Be Delicious: Be Delicious Picnic in the Park.

DKNY Be Delicious Picnic in the Park for women is a “lighter and playful version” of the original apple-based fragrance, and is sold in 125 ml Eau de Toilette. The men’s version is in Eau de Cologne, and is described as a “sparkling re-interpretation of the original…”

Donna Karan Black Cashmere fragrance review

Winter arrived late this year, but for the past week or so it has been making up for lost time. It is bitter cold, and outside my window, last night’s snowfall is being swirled around by a vicious wind. It is the sort of day when nothing but an oriental will do: hence today’s scent, Donna Karan Black Cashmere. Black Cashmere launched in 2002, and was Donna Karan’s sixth fragrance release for women. It was created by perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux (who also worked on the recent Donna Karan Gold), and the notes include saffron, masala spices, white pepper, clove, nutmeg, pimento berries, broom flower, patchouli, rose, incense, wengue wood, bois de miel, labdanum.

The first blast of Black Cashmere is a little rough: lots of raw, cedar-y wood, lots of pepper, a rush of warm spices…

Donna Karan Gold fragrance review

Donna Karan Gold

Donna Karan launched Gold earlier this year. The fragrance was created by perfumers Yann Vasnier and Rodrigo Flores-Roux, and features notes of Casablanca lilies, fluid amber, sparkling acacia, white clove, jasmine templar, golden blossom and patchouli.

Last month I said that I thought Tom Ford’s Black Orchid was perhaps the most impressive mainstream perfume release this year; Donna Karan’s Gold may well get my vote for the prettiest. The top notes are crisp and summery…

Donna Karan Gold, Vera Wang Princess & Sonia Rykiel Belle en Rykiel ~ new fragrances for women

Donna Karan Gold perfumeDonna Karan will launch Donna Karan Gold (shown at right) in October. The new fragrance features Casablanca lilies “combined with fluid amber, sparkling acacia, white clove, jasmine templar, golden blossom and East Indian patchouli.” Gold will be available in Eau de Toilette, Eau de Parfum and Parfum.
