Diptyque L’Eau de Tarocco ~ fragrance review

Often, I think of myself as a jaded sugar daddy. My “paramours”? Perfumes of course! They kiss my neck, fondle my arms, tickle my chest, and try to rouse me from my blasé, “been-there/smelled-that” existence. (They want my money.) Sometimes, it’s hard to keep my eyes open, to feign interest in their “personalities” or their juice.
For instance:
The new parfum-garçon in town approaches (European, overdressed, “exclusive”, always asking me for huge sums of cash) and I think: “He’s not worth it!”
I spot a middle-aged scent, “face-lifted”, all traces of moss liposuctioned away, dressed like a teenager: “I feel I know you, but something has changed…something is ‘different!’ You’ve lost weight! You seem lighter!” I say.
Department store types attract me (they are often cute, “fashionable” and bubbly) but I always get their names mixed up…
Diptyque ~ shopping for perfume in New York City

Bleecker Street in Manhattan’s West Village features a remarkable array of intimate designer shops, and the Parisian perfume house of Diptyque recently joined this chic line-up. Diptyque’s New York boutique is one of only two in the United States (the other is located in San Francisco), so if you’re in the metropolitan area and you’re not planning a trip to Paris any time soon, a visit to this store is the best way to experience the Diptyque aesthetic. Just like the company’s signature packaging, the boutique’s decor is a mix of minimalism and poetic detail. One wall is painted matte black, one is veiled with sheer white fabric, and one is currently hung with a larger-than-life reproduction of a Rococo painting of Bathsheba performing her toilette.
Diptyque’s cult-classic candles, in every available fragrance, occupy one side of the shop. On the top shelf of their display, a row of small flat-screen monitors shows a continuous video loop of the candles lit with flickering flames…
Diptyque L’Art du Soin (The Art of Body Care) ~ scented body products

Diptyque recently expanded its selection of personal fragrance and home fragrance with a new line of luxurious bath and body products. The five products in the “L’Art du Soin” range are designed around carefully chosen natural ingredients like organic olive oil and argan oil, among other naturally beneficial essences, while remaining free of parabens, silicones, sulfates, petrochemicals, and other synthetic additives. Unlike Diptyque’s previously existing body washes and lotions, which were scented to match specific Eaux de Toilettes in the collection, these new items have their own unique fragrance blends.
With L’Art du Soin, Diptyque is also adopting a theme of travel and discovery: all five products incorporate ingredients associated with historic Mediterranean destinations. Creamy Body Wash (Gelée Lactée), a softly foaming shower cream, evokes the ancient bathing traditions of Aleppo with a scent of lemon and olive leaves. Rich Butter (Crème Riche), in a tribute to Byzantium, is fragranced with a true Damask rose note enhanced by myrrh and balsam. Luxurious Hand Balm (Baume Généreux pour les Mains) is a mouth-watering souvenir of Cordoba, in Spain, succulently scented with ripe apricot and buttery tonka bean…
Diptyque L’Eau de Tarocco ~ new fragrance

Diptyque has launched L’Eau de Tarocco, a fourth fragrance in the cologne series that debuted last year with L’Eau de L’Eau, L’Eau des Hesperides & L’Eau de Neroli.
A fruity Eau de Cologne that’s sweet yet vibrant and spicy.
One can imagine the camels carrying burlap sacks filled with heady spices and exotic flavors…
