Diptyque car diffuser

Wouldn't be caught dead with a Little Tree hanging from your rearview mirror? Diptyque has the luxury alternative: a new car diffuser (it appears to hold the same cartridges as the Un Air de Diptyque electric home diffuser): "A new addition joins our extensive home collection. Our novel car diffuser is artistic and sophisticated and uses an innovative system of cold diffusion. Simply attach to the car ventilation to start a cycle. Thanks to the movement of the metal grid, it is possible to adjust the intensity of the fragrance to your preference." $60, with the cartridges ($38 each) sold separately.

A perfect summer "first layer"? Diptyque's Do Son Fragrance Mist: "Concentrated in a moisturising white lotus extract, this micro-drop fragrance mist is as vaporous as a sea breeze but leaves no sensation of moistness on the skin. In fact, it has an irresistibly soft, powdery finish. Due to its lightness, it is the ideal fragrance gesture for the summertime, refreshing the skin while moisturising it." $55 for 200 ml.

(Mostly) Scented Father’s Day Gifts ~ 2017 Edition

tie

For Father’s Day, I’ve made a little list of gifts I’D like to receive (if I were a father). Be gone shaving supplies (hardware and shave cream); I’d be so mad getting “gifts” dealing with a hated activity. No foam or fancy razor or natural-bristle brush ever made shaving fun. Aftershave? That’s a skin-searing/epidermis-destroying liquid. Ties? Weeeeeell…I admit I love ties.

Following you’ll find a quirky array of things to spray, drink, plant, bathe with, rub on dry skin or tie around the neck (the only unscented item here).

Lemon Up shampoo

We all know about vintage perfumes…but vintage SHAMPOO? I was thrilled to discover that The Vermont Country Store (where I often “browse”) has revived Lemon Up shampoo (“every bottle contains the juice of one whole lemon!”) If your father grew up in the 70s he may love to receive the shampoo/conditioner duo…

Diptyque Oud & Cire Trudon Tadine candles ~ home fragrance reviews

Diptyque Oud candle

I burn scented candles in summer. Beautiful aromas make me feel “cooler” / calmer if the air is hot, and if the AC is on, scented candles freshen the air. I used to think light floral or citrus-heavy candle scents were best for sultry days, but now I tend towards “tropical wood” scents in summer (and reserve my floral and lemon/mandarin/grapefruit candles for winter). Today I’m reviewing two candles with “exotic” aromas: one presents oud and conjures a Southeast Asia temple, the other showcases sandalwood and makes me want to travel — to Karnataka or Australia…
