Blu Mediterraneo revamping their line

Posted by Robin on 24 March 2005 4 Comments

Acqua di Parma's Blu Mediterraneo line is being revamped in preparation for a relaunch in April:

When Blu Mediterraneo was originally launched in 1999, it featured about 50 products, including five fragrances. Those will be discontinued this year and a redesigned Blu Mediterraneo collection will comprise 15 items, including three scents, which will be launched worldwide on April 1.

The 3 remaining fragrances will be Relaxing Capri Orange, Invigorating Tuscan Cypress and Pampering Sicilian Almond. (via Women's Wear Daily)

Perfume of the day: L’Artisan Jacinthe des Bois

L'Artisan Jacinthe des Bois fragrance

Jacinthe des Bois was released in 2000 as part of L’Artisan’s Je T’ai Cueilli Une Fleur trio, which also included Verte Violette and Oeillet Sauvage. All three fragrances were created by Anne Flipo, who was also the nose behind the popular La Chasse aux Papillons. In place of the standard L’Artisan packaging, the trio featured bottles decorated with a trellis design, with silk flowers attached to the neck.

The notes for Jacinthe are tulip, galbanum, sap, broom, narcissus, beeswax, hay, and maté. It starts out pretty much a dead ringer for fresh hyacinths…

Perfume review: Fendi Theorema

Fendi Theorema fragrance

It is yet another unreasonably cold day here, and so I am reaching for one of my favorite winter comfort scents. Theorema was launched by Fendi in 1998, and the narrow-shouldered bottle was inspired by the shape of the classic Fendi handbag. It was developed by perfumer Christine Nagel, and the notes are tangelo, jasmine, thai shamouti (orange), osmanthus, spices, cinnamon, pink pepper, sandalwood, guaiac wood, amber, macassar, sweet cream, and musk.

The top notes are cheerful, with a very bright and juicy orange underscored with strong, dusty spices. The cinnamon is pronounced, and there are other spices as well — possibly nutmeg, possibly cardamom? It settles into a soft, lightly spicy scent with woody base notes. The sweet cream gives it a milky, almost vanillic feel, and there is tiniest whiff of something like dusty cocoa, however it is by no means overly sweet and it is only slightly foody. The floral notes are very muted, and the woody amber base is more pale than not…

Another one bites the dust…

Molinard confirms that they are discontinuing Vanille Réglisse.

And I am curious to hear if anyone has specific information about the Gobin Daudé line, which seems to be slowly disappearing from the retailers. Browns still has the line, but it is no longer at Takashimaya, and lusciouscargo only has a few of the scents left.

Hèrmes is discontinuing the Eau de Parfum, but will continue to produce the Eau de Toilette. Stock up now if you need the stronger version; many of the online discounters still have the EdP.
